Tauroctony relief fragment probably from Narni

A marble tauroctony relief fragment probably from Narni (ancient Narnia) in Umbria, now in the Museo Nazionale delle Terme in Rome, preserving Mithras in Eastern dress as a bullkiller with dog and Cautopates standing cross-legged before the bull; the exact find-spot is uncertain.

Fragment of marble relief, probably found at Narni (ancient Narnia); the exact find-spot is unknown. Now in the Museo Nazionale delle Terme, Rome.Only a part of the representation is preserved. Mithras in Eastern dress as a bullkiller. Dog near the wound; the serpent not clearly visible; before the bull Cautopates is standing, cross-legged. The greater part of Mithras and the bull, and the feet of Cautopates have got lost.
