Tauroctony relief with polychromy traces from Entrains-sur-Nohain

A fragment of a limestone relief from Interanum (modern Entrains-sur-Nohain) in Lugdunensis, with the bull best preserved showing a belt round its body, together with traces of polychromy and remnants of the dog and serpent.

Fragment of a limestone relief (H. 0.30, Br. 0.40, D. 0.09). Found at Interanum (modern Entrains-sur-Nohain), Lugdunensis.

Tauroctony. The bull is best preserved, with a belt round its body. Of Mithras only scarce traces survive; the scorpion is lost. The dog, badly damaged, holds its head near the wound; of the serpent only the tail is preserved. Remnants of polychromy.
