Contextual note on Mithraeum at Heiligkreuz near Trier

A scholarly note recording that finds at Heiligkreuz, including a lion's head and leg fragment, the head of a genius, and a knife with a gold handle, support the hypothesis of a Mithraeum at that location in Augusta Treverorum (modern Trier) in Belgica.

From the finds at Heiligkreuz, Augusta Treverorum (modern Trier), Belgica, it may be concluded that a Mithraeum existed there. Additional finds from the same spot include a fragment of a lion's head and leg, the head of a genius, all in Jura limestone, and a knife with a gold handle, which Loeschcke associates with the Mithras cult.
