Ritterling in Ann. Ver. Nass. Alt. XLIV, 1918, 230ff supplies additional interesting information concerning the construction of the sanctuary. "Für den Kult ist wichtig, dasz sich hinter dem Kultbilde ein kleiner Raum befand, den man ungesehen von der Gemeinde betreten und wieder verlassen konnte" (cfr. MM, 235f).
