Lion pair from Königshoffen
Pair of large stone lions from the Mithraeum at Königshoffen, each holding a boar's head beneath its forepaws and painted red on a white ground; they were set at the ends of the podia, flanking the sanctuary.

Fragment of two stone lions (H. 0.75 Br. 1.10) found at the end of the podia.

The two lions were probably erected on bases (H. 0.10). Each lion holds a boar's head under its forepaws. Of one lion only the paws are missing; of the other one only the foremost part is preserved; they are painted red in a white background.
