During excavations at Boghaz-Koï in 1907 clay tablets were found on which a treaty concluded between Chatti and Mitanni in the 14th century B.C. was recorded. The gods of the two countries are invoked as guardians of this treaty. With the Mitanni a.o. the following names are found (Winckler in MDOG 35, 1907, 51; Vermaseren, Mithras Rome, 1 n. 2):

ilâni mi-it-ra-aš-ši-il ilâni u-ru-w-na-aš-ši-el / Variant: a-ru-na-aš-ši-il. / ilu(!)in-dar ilâni na-ša-a[t-ti-ia-a]n-na / Variant: in-da-ra na-š[a]-at-ti-ia-an-na.

"Also Mithra, Varuna, Indra und eine vierte Gottheit, welche dem Zusammenhang nach zu dieser Gruppe gehören musz (Nasatya: die Zwillinge)".
