De errore profanarum religionum
19: …and bridegroom, rejoice bridegroom, rejoice new light! Thus, why do you, O destructive persuasion, cast down wretched men into the depths? Why do you promise signs of false hope to him? There is no light in you, neither is there any other one who deserves to be called the bridegroom.
