TNMM 1358 ↔ CIMRM 983

At the back of the Mithraeum at Pons Saravi (modern Saarburg), Belgica, on the spot of the main relief, the skeleton of a man of approximately thirty to forty years was found lying on a fragment of the relief. His arms were tied behind his back and his wrists were bound with an iron chain. This corpse was apparently deposited by antagonists of the Mithras cult to pollute the sanctuary.
