Red sandstone altar from the Mithraeum at Dieburg that had been reused, its original inscription obliterated and replaced with a dedication to Deo invicto Mithrae

Altar in red sandstone (H. 0.56 Br. 0.335 D. 0.24).

The altar had already been used; its original inscription has been obliterated. The front has a new inscription between two rosettes; on the l. side two knives; on the r. side an axe.
