How to draft a new article on The New Mithraeum
Access your personal space
On the top right of the screen, click to access your personal space.
Then go to tab Contribution > Your articles >
Structure of your article
Heading
Keep it short and include relevant keywords. A clear, searchable title helps readers find your work.
Subtitle
Complement your title with a couple of short sentences that introduce the topic. Around 130 characters, and no more than 230, are usually enough.
Content
This is the body of your article.
We use Summernote as the text editor. It allows you to format your article easily, but it has some limitations:
- The visual style in the editor is not exactly the same as the final published version.
- Some advanced layout controls are not available.
- Formatting pasted from external sources may need cleaning.
To see how your article will actually look, save it as a draft or send it to review. A button on the top right, See on site, will allow you to preview the final rendering.
Formatting tools

Using the Styles dropdown (first button on the left), you can select predefined formats such as Header, Subheader, Normal, Blockquote, References, and Question.
Use Subheader only if you need a heading within a section already introduced by a Header.
You can also format text in bold, italic, or strikethrough, create bullet or numbered lists, remove formatting, insert links and images, and embed videos from YouTube, Vimeo, Vine, Instagram, DailyMotion, or Youku.
Keep in mind that the editor preview may differ slightly from the final published version.
Article settings

- You own the image rights, or
- The image is Creative Commons or Public Domain.
If you are unsure, you may leave the choice to us.
You can find suitable public domain or Creative Commons images on platforms such as:
