Mithras in Alpes Graiae

The high mountain routes of Alpes Graiae formed part of the Alpine corridors connecting Italy, Gaul and the northwestern provinces.

Evidence associated with Alpes Graiae reflects the strategic role of the province within transalpine communication networks. Although the Mithraic material remains modest in scale, it contributes to understanding the movement of cults and populations through the western Alpine world.
