Marble column of Salvianus from Mithraeum II, Ptuj
Marble column from the entrance of Mithraeum II at Ptuj, ancient Poetovio, serving as a statue base, its front decorated with a kantharus between panthers and vine tendrils; the inscription names Salvianus, contrascrip of the statio Atrantiana.

Marble column (H. 1.19) with square (Br. 0.30) top. Found before the entrance of the sanctuary. Inv. No. 152.

As there is a hole in the top, the column served as a base for a statue. Its front is decorated with an inscription (No. 1529) underneath which is a kantharus between two panthers. Vine-tendrils with grapes emerge from the kantharus. On its sides vine-tendrils also sprouting from a kantharus.
