The New Mithraeum
Archaeological monograph on the ancient necropolises of Artashat (Artaxata), presenting the results of excavations carried out between 1971 and 1977. Published as volume 17 of Archaeological Excavations in Armenia, the study documents burial complexes and associated archaeological material from the ancient Armenian capital. Among the finds illustrated in the volume are fragmentary sculptural remains subsequently interpreted in the literature in connection with a possible Mithraic tauroctony.
