Faustus

Slave of Tiberius Saturninus and dedicator of a Mithraic altar at Senia.

Biography
of Faustus

TNMP 299

Faustus was a slave of Tiberius Saturninus, praefectus vehiculorum and contractor of the public customs revenues. An altar dedicated to Sol Invictus Mithras from the area of Senia records that he fulfilled a vow on behalf of himself and his family. His dedication provides further evidence for the presence of Mithraic worship among the households and dependants of imperial transport and customs officials in Dalmatia.
