Antiochia ad Orontem

Antioch was the capital of Roman Syria and gateway between the Mediterranean and the eastern provinces.

One of the principal cities of the Roman East, Antioch on the Orontes served as the capital of Roman Syria and a major political, commercial and religious centre linking the Mediterranean, Anatolia and Mesopotamia.
