Based on the inscription of the relief of Mithras killing the bull, on display in the Vatican Musei, where his name appears, Χρῆστος was previously thought to be an artist, as first described by Brunn Künstlergesch.
However, I saw, ἐποίησαν only the consecration, since πατήρ is a priestly title in the Mithraic cult. Kaibel IGI 1272. Loewy Inscription Greek image 457.
