Kreta (Крета) is a village in northern Bulgaria, situated near the lower course of the Vit River and south of the Danube. In the Roman period the area belonged to the province of Moesia Inferior and formed part of the hinterland of the Danubian frontier, where quarrying and agricultural activities contributed to the local economy.
