This altar is dedicated to the birth of Mithras by a frumentarius of the Legio VII Geminae.

This temple of Mithras has been discovered under the Church in Vieux-en-Val-Romey, in 1869.

Located at the western entrance to the Palace of Darius in Persepolis, this tablet bears an inscription mentioning Ahuramazda and Mithra.
